Tickets for BTS movie gone in 30 minutes, more shows to come

Cinema tickets for a documentary starring K-pop boy band BTS have been selling like hot cakes across the country, with some venues selling out within 30 minutes of release.

Burn The Stage: The Movie was only scheduled to be released on Nov 15 in 32 GSC cinemas nationwide, with just one to two screenings per venue.

However, according to a spokesperson from GSC, almost all the 12,000 tickets were snapped up soon after they went on sale on Oct 22, with all except two venues, Miri and Mentakab, selling out.

Due to the overwhelming demand, GSC will be announcing additional screenings of the movie at 6pm today.

Burn The Stage: The Movie is the first ever film featuring the hugely popular K-pop band, and follows the septet’s journey throughout its 2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour, which lasted 300-days and spanned 19 cities worldwide.

The movie will open in South Korea as well as in some 40 countries and regions around the world, including North America, Europe and Southeast Asia, the band’s management agency Big Hit Entertainment said in a recent report by The Korea Herald.

The film was previously released on YouTube Premium, a paid streaming subscription service by YouTube, in a series of eight episodes from March to May.
