Jason Momoa is looking good as Aquaman

No doubt, the only good thing about Justice League was the introduction of Aquaman and The Flash.

While the solo movie for The Flash is still up in the air, the Aquaman solo movie is scheduled for release in December. As played by Jason Momoa in Justice League, Arthur Curry – a half-human, half-Atlantean man – has not only the ability to control tides, communicate with other sea creatures, swim at supersonic speed and superstrength, but also a sense of humour.

In Aquaman’s first trailer, that humour is thankfully retained, giving a glimmer of hope for DC Extended Universe, which has so far only produced disappointing and dull flicks. Yes, that’s inclusive of Man Of Steel.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman tells the origin story of Arthur, a man caught between two worlds – his mother lives in the sea (Nicole Kidman) and his father who lives on land (Temuera Morrison).

From young, Arthur felt like an outcast. But now he is on the path of self-discovery when his half-brother, Orm (Patrick Wilson), plots to wage war on people living on the surface.

The film also stars Amber Heard (as Mera, a fierce warrior and Aquaman’s ally), Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lundgren and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Aquaman is scheduled to open at cinemas nationwide on Dec 20.
